The Breaking Point of Love Chapter 77: Celeste’s Visit to Betty and Hidden Tensions

“Grandma,” Celeste interrupted Martha. Then, she continued calmly, “It’s okay. I’ll go back with Jo if Trevor’s busy.”

Celeste didn’t want to force Trevor into anything. By now, she no longer cared.

However, Martha misunderstood her. She thought Celeste was being considerate and trying not to put Trevor in a difficult position.

Seeing how thoughtful Celeste still was toward Trevor, Martha felt a pang of both sympathy and frustration. And so, the decision was made.

After breakfast, Celeste chatted with Martha for a while and got ready to leave. Martha packed a bunch of gifts for her good friend, Betty, and asked Celeste to deliver them. Celeste couldn’t refuse, and she ended up bringing them all.

Trevor hadn’t left yet, so he and Martha went to see Celeste and Jordyn off.

Jordyn ran up to Trevor and hugged his leg. “Will you come home tonight, Dad?”

Trevor gently ruffled her hair. “Yes, I will.”

There was zero communication between Celeste and Trevor.

After Jordyn hopped into the car, Celeste waved at Martha and drove away.

Through the rearview mirror, she could see Trevor and Martha standing there, watching her leave.

When Celeste arrived at the Rodriguez residence, Betty and Adeline came out to greet them.

Noticing the trunk full of gifts, Betty furrowed her brows. “Why did you bring so much stuff?”

“Grandma wanted me to bring these,” Celeste replied.

Ever since Celeste married Trevor, Betty and Martha had grown distant. Upon hearing Celeste’s words, Betty scoffed and remained silent.

Celeste noticed the villa across the street was under renovation and decided to change the topic. “Is someone moving into that villa?”

“I think so. Construction started last week. The owner wants to move in quickly, so the renovation of this huge villa is almost done. It won’t be long before someone moves in.”

They lived in an old villa neighborhood where neighbors had known each other for decades.

Helping with the bags, Adeline commented, “Let’s hope they’re friendly. If they’re arrogant, it’ll be hard to get along with them.”

After entering the villa, Adeline brought out a bowl of bone broth made just for Celeste. “I cooked this for you because I heard you’ve been exhausted lately. I made extra, so you can bring some back home later.”

Celeste took the bowl. “Okay, thank you, Aunt Adeline.”

Ivan returned home only by dinner, busy with work.

Celeste remembered how Matthias had rejected Wynn’s application at YodaVision Co. on her behalf, which led to Trevor’s revenge. Ivan had lost a project because of it too, leaving Celeste feeling guilty.

“Uncle Ivan, I’m sorry for what happened last time,” she said.

“It’s fine. It’s all in the past now,” Ivan shrugged. “I told you before, right? Without the Locket family, Rodriguez Corporation still wouldn’t have been able to take on the project in the current situation. You don’t have to blame yourself.”

They couldn’t let Betty know about this. She would have been furious if she found out Trevor was going against the Rodriguez family for Wynn.

Seeing Betty approaching, Ivan nudged Celeste lightly, signaling her to stop talking about it.

Celeste quickly changed the topic.
